Dr. Lipman is an energy and environmental technology, economics, and policy analyst whose research focuses on fuel cell technology, combined heat and power systems, renewable energy, hydrogen infrastructure, and electric-drive vehicles from an integrated economic, engineering, public policy, and environmental perspective.
Dr. Tim Lipman is an Assistant Research Engineer with the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Berkeley, where he also serves as Research Director for the Institute’s Transportation Sustainability Research Center. He also has an affiliation with UC Berkeley’s Energy and Resources Group, where he co-directs the Pacific Region Combined Heat and Power Application Center. The Swiss Silicon Valley Association has been conducting high tech study tours to Silicon Valley since 1992. This year’s tour will be taking place from May 13 - 19. The delegation includes 14 people, mainly technologists from Swiss universities, students and entrepreneurs. During their one-week program they visit a few notable large companies as well as several start-ups.
