Visitors

Vaud Delegationswissnex San Francisco hosts short- and long-term visitors looking to harness our knowledge network in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.

The head of Media Relations at ETH Zurich recently spent three months at swissnex San Francisco on a sabbatical, during which time he made important connections at neighboring universities such as UC Berkeley, Stanford, and Caltech in Southern California. Read more about his experience at swissnex.

Delegations

Study-Tour.jpgDelegations from governments, universities, and companies also visit swissnex San Francisco regularly to take advantage of our services. We help organize study tours, for example, including a joint summer school program between the State of Vaud, in Switzerland, and the California State University system. And we set up meetings and special events for interested parties, such as "TV 2.0 - Content in a Multimedia World" and "Unconventional Aerial Robotics West Coast Tour," that create opportunities for discovery, brainstorming, increasing knowledge, and familiarization with the state-of-the-art in our fields. We also lead delegations from California to Switzerland, including 2009's "Design and Innovation in Switzerland" tour for US media and design leaders.

Find out more about the May 2010 Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Study Tour, organized by ThinkSwiss-Brainstorm the Future and swissnex San Francisco with the goal of exchanging knowledge and ideas between Switzerland and North America in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

See pictures below from our most recent delegation of Swiss journalists and representatives of the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV), who visited clean tech businesses and research labs in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley.
