Throw your hands in the air and wave ‘em all around like you just… play the drums? That’s right. AirDrum, a new app from Swiss CTI Start-up company ViSSee, currently in residence at swissnex San Francisco, lets iPhone and iPad users throw their hands up to beat on virtual hi-hats, cymbols, and toms without ever touching the screen. AirDrum uses the onboard camera to sense movement and deliver crashes and booms. ViSSee shows off the app on April 7 at a reception in which users can test their skills; a select few compete on stage for prizes. Bring your own iGadget pre-loaded with AirDrum, or practice on one of the iPad stations around the room. Video Contest Alert! Now through April 7, make a video showing off your AirDrum prowess and upload it to YouTube for a chance to win T-shirts and free app download codes for your friends.
