Gaming has become an important industry in Switzerland, just as it has for economies and cultures around the world. Swiss gaming employs an increasing number of people, and Swiss games themselves are gaining a steady reputation for their innovative design—often linked to major technological and artistic institutions in the country.
The “Swiss booth” is co-presented by swissnex San Francisco, the Swiss Art Council Pro Helvetia’s “Game Culture” program, and the Swiss chapter of the Independent Game Developers Association (IGDA). It showcases the rising stars of Swiss gaming culture, including game and software companies bitforge, Nothing, HexaDec, and Gbanga. Find them all with swissnex San Francisco in Booth 731 on the exhibition floor.
More InfoThe Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the world’s largest professionals-only game industry event. GDC 2011 commemorates the 25th anniversary of the conference and serves as a testament to how far the industry has come and to its bright future. The GDC attracts over 18,000 attendees and is the primary forum where programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals, business decision-makers, and others involved in the development of interactive games gather to exchange ideas and shape the future of the industry.
