The New Year saw new connections formed at swissnex San Francisco. On Friday, January 7, 2011, coinciding with a visit from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) President, Ralph Eichler, members of the university’s alumni community organized the first local reception solely for former students.
The 60 alumni who attended heard opening remarks from swissnex San Francisco’s Christian Simm, listened to President Eichler’s words of welcome, and learned the value of the ETH Zurich alumni association from its director, Peter Brunner. Brunner also called for volunteers to lead a new West Coast alumni chapter in 2011. A New England chapter formed in late October, 2010.
The private event allowed ETH Zurich alumni to network amongst themselves and form new bonds with their university and its leaders. swissnex San Francisco looks forward to helping the local chapter grow and prosper.
